Clinical Supervision

I am a Board-approved supervisor providing supervision to psychology registrars and trainees enrolled in both general and clinical psychology programs. I bring over three decades of experience as a consulting clinical psychologist, alongside more than 25 years of supervision across academic and clinical settings.Across my career, I have supervised multiple generations of provisional psychologists and registrars, supporting their development from early training through to endorsement and independent practice. My experience spans university-based training programs, public and private clinical services, and private practice. My supervision approach is collaborative, reflective, and developmentally informed. I am particularly committed to creating a psychologically safe supervisory space where registrars are supported to think critically, integrate theory with practice, and build confidence in their professional identity — without fear of being “put down” or judged.

Areas of supervision focus include:

- Clinical formulation and case conceptualisation

- Evidence-based intervention across a range of presentations

- Ethical and professional decision-making

- Use of self and reflective practice

- Navigating training requirements, competency development, and professional transitions

Supervision is tailored to the registrar’s stage of training and learning goals, whether within a clinical psychology program or the general registrar pathway. I value supervision as a space for growth, curiosity, and consolidation, and aim to support registrars to become thoughtful, ethical, and resilient practitioners.

What Registrars Can Expect from Supervision

Registrars working with me can expect supervision that is structured, thoughtful, and supportive, while maintaining clear professional standards and expectations.

In particular, I aim to offer:

  • A psychologically safe supervisory space where questions, uncertainty, and mistakes are part of learning

  • Respectful, collaborative dialogue rather than hierarchical or shaming approaches

  • Clear guidance balanced with encouragement of independent clinical thinking

  • Supervision that adapts to the registrar’s stage of development

  • Support in building confidence, professional identity, and clinical depth

  • A focus on growth and consolidation — not “being put down”

I value supervision as a relational and reflective process that builds practitioners up, supports ethical and competent practice, and prepares registrars for sustainable careers in psychology.

Supervision is available in-person and remotely.
